A tote bag is a solid choice for commuting to work. They hold tons of items, look chic, and even double as an everyday bag. I personally love a good tote bag because they always come in handy when I need to pick up last minute items that I didn’t bring a separate re-useable bag for.
Here are some great options for tote bags that not only check the practical box but are also stylish and make you look life you’ve got life together. Even if you’re using it to grab Starbucks in your PJs (I’m SO guilty of this)
Leather Tote Bags
Leather tote bags are a great option fora work because they can look the most professional. Leather totes (or vegan leather if that’s your jam) also have a wide range in price, so you can spend $ or $$$ for a more designer option. However, some all leather totes can be heavy and if you’re carrying lot to work, I’d keep this in mind.
Nylon Tote Bags
I personally love nylon totes! They’re lightweight, easy to clean, and often fold flat for traveling. They’re a great first work bag option if you don’t have a big budget. Depending upon the type of material, they can look just as chic as their leather counterparts. These are also a great option if you travel a lot (many have a roller sleeves, and did I mention that they’re easy to clean too? #magiceraser)
Laptop Totes
Laptop totes are specifically designed for carrying your laptop. This could mean they either are super slip and only carry your laptop and a few other essential items. Or, they can be larger than most totes because they carry your laptop, notebook, small purse, mouse, kitchen sink, etc. A great option if your electronic gadgets are your lifeline and you need to make sure it’s properly cushioned.
Canvas Totes
A canvas tote is a great functional option if you’re going for a more casual look. Canvas tote bags are lightweight, easy to clean (some be thrown in the washing machine!). These are also a great option if you’re looking for something to double as an everyday bag. Most canvas totes don’t have a lot of organization, so these types of bags are ideal if you only need to carry a few large items. But they’re also large enough to fit some unexpected items – like leftovers from a last minute business lunch.
