3 Ways to Wear an Investment Piece

AFXKF - 3 ways to wear an investment piece

Sorry for the delay in posting this guys, but apologies aside, I am SO excited to share 3 ways to wear an investment piece!

I’ve been a fan of Anne Fontaine Casual for the past few years and their clothes are SO meticulously designed and have such beautiful quality and construction. The one thing I look for in an investment piece is versatility. If I cannot imagine the piece styled at least 2 different ways, I don’t see the value of purchasing. For this skirt set (that is all the Taylor Swift vibes, amirite?!), I decided to take the versatility one step further and style this set not only 3 different ways, but for 3 different occasions.

Fit wise, both pieces run large. I am wearing a size 38 in the skirt (yes, the skirt has pockets!!!) and a size Small in the crop top.

Daytime Event:

Skirt: Anne Fontaine Casual // Top: Anne Fontaine Casual // Shoes: Coach (old), similar here // Sunnies: Nordstrom // Bag: Vince Camuto (old), similar here

The set on its own is perfect to wear to a daytime Spring/Summer event such as a fancy brunch, bridal shower, networking event, etc. It’s fun and trendy, but I love the high cut of the skirt so that it covers the belly button and isn’t too revealing.

Styling wise, I dressed it up with some nice jewelry and heels. Pro-tip: The skirt hits at mid calf, so make sure you wear a spike/stiletto heel. I first tried this with a block heel and it was SUPER unflattering.

Work:

Skirt: Anne Fontaine Casual // Top: Banana Republic // Watch: MVMT // Bag: Coach (old) but similar here // Shoes: Coach (old) but similar here

I love that the conservative cut of the skirt makes it a great choice for work. Here I’ve paired the skirt with a simple white button down, heels and a workbag. This looks made me feel SO classic but not at all stuffy or boring. This is a great look to wear when meeting with clients, or attending a work or networking event.

Evening Look:

Top: Anne Fontaine Casual // Pants: Lululemon // Shoes: Same Edelman (old) but similar here //Cardigan: Nordstrom (old), but similar here

Lastly, I’ve paired the crop top with my trusty high-waisted paper bag pants from Lululemon, but really, any wide leg pants or high-waisted pants will do the trick here. You just need to balance out the slim crop top.

This look still has the ‘fun’ of the sporty crop top, but is styled for an elegant dinner or event. I’ve also paired it with an oversized cardigan for contrast.

I hope you enjoyed these looks – which one was your favorite? Also, what are some of your favorite investment pieces?
