Julep Beauty

I’m so excited to share today’s post with ya’ll! If you’ve watched my Insta Stories, you saw what was probably the coolest package from Julep Beauty – their Passport to K-Beauty Set! I’ve taken some time to test everything out, and it has totally revived my dull, tired skin! My skin is much more glowy and super soft thanks to these bad boys.

If you haven’t heard of Julep Beauty, they’re a Korean Skincare and Beauty company that is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (“SLS”) free, paraben free, and cruelty free. That means you can rest easy thinking about all the bunnies not harmed in product testing and you can use these products after using sunless tanner and it won’t eat your tan! Woot!

They have a slew of skincare products, and many times I like to mix and match depending upon the state of my skin, the weather, and time of day. I’ll break it down for you by day proving the most comprehensive routine, but you can choose the products that make sense for your skin (or all of them!), just keep note of which product to apply them after.

Packaging

My favorite part of this line is the attention to packaging. The products are designed with hygiene in mind. The Restorative Facial Milk and Restorative Face Oil have eyedropper applicators so it’s very difficult to have bacteria contaminant the rest of the product. Even the Charcoal Konjac Sponge comes with a little string attached to it and a suction cup hanger to hang it to try (instead of breed bacteria) after each use.

Even the stick serums (which are PERFECT for traveling since they’re solids) which look very similar, are marked with a sun and moon to easily differentiate them from the daytime and nighttime uses. The nighttime serum has BHA (helps fight acne) which can cause skin sensitivity in the sun.

Daily Night Routine

I first use the Love Your Bare Face Cleansing Oil to wash off the day’s make up. I started using an oil cleaner back in January of this year and it has been a game changer, especially in the winter time. This is totally random, but I once was at a cocktail party where I met this hotel manager who legit looked 25 and he mentioned he was in his early 40’s. When I asked his secret, he mentioned that his mother is French and always had family and friends send them oil based cleansers that had been available in France forever but only recently have become available in the US. He mentioned that using regular soap was too harsh on the skin and can cause irritation and damage.

For my skin, which is normal to dry, an oil based cleanser is fantastic as it is able to breakdown make up and debris without stripping my skin of natural oils.

For Step 2, I use the Love Your Bare Face Cleansing Stick with the Konjac Cleansing Sponge to gently exfoliate my skin. The sponge is super crazy, it’s actually Konjac Root infused with charcoal! I take the stick and swirl it on the damp sponge, gently massaging until it suds up. Also, the cleansing stick smells amazing – citrus!

Step 3 (2-3 times a week) I use the Boost Your Radiance Restorative Facial Oil. This oil is great – not greasy and I wake up with the softest skin! I imagine I will use this daily during the winter months. It’s also great to use when you get a nasty sunburn. I used this and the moisturizers in the day routine and my skin healed naturally and did not peel!

Step 4 is the Dream Big Nightly Renewal Pressed Serum with BHA. I don’t have a lot of acne, but some spots will crop up here and there when it gets super humid out. This serum is super hydrating and I found those little spots dry up in just 1-2 days using this. The BHA gently exfoliates and cleans your pores. Also, a little bit goes a long way. I find it works best if I apply it directly to areas of acne and then rub it in going over the rest of my face in the process. But overall it’s so easy and convenient and great for traveling.

Daily Morning Routine

First, I wash my face with water and use toner. Then, if needed, I apply the So Awake Depuffing Gel Eye Cream.

For Step 2,  I apply the What Your Skin Needs – Restorative Facial Milk. This stuff is amazing, it’s a moisturizer but it’s super lightweight.

Step 3 (if my skin is super dry or needs love) is the You Got This Pressed Serum Daily Moisturizer.

Step 4 is the No Excuses Invisible Sunscreen Gel SPF 40 (!!!). This is hands down my favorite product. It’s not at all greasy or thick, it absorbs into the skin quickly. It’s clear – and it’s SPF 40. Can I say more? I don’t think I can. If I’m not wearing sleeves during the day, I’ll rub a little on my shoulders too since they tend to get scorched.

Self-Care Sunday

As part of my Self-Care Sunday routine, I use one of the following after cleansing my face:

The Triple Quench Deep Hydration Face Sheet Mask. This mask is so cool! There are three different products in it. First, you apply the Essence Ampoule Gel to prep your skin for the other products. Next, you apply the Gel Sheet Mask for 15 minutes. Lastly, you apply the Sleeping Pack which helps to seal in hydration. This really overhauls your skin to be super soft glowy.

Or, the Night Shift Deep Sleep Facial Mask. This mask is super hydrating and I love using it the night before an event or taking a flight, it gives my skin a little added boost of radiance. Also, a little goes a long way with this stuff – you only need a dime sized amount for your face.

Julep Beauty Skincare

TLDR

Korean Skincare routines use a lot of products, and Julep Beauty’s is no exception. But what I really like about their skincare is that the packaging is either super hygienic and travel friendly (pressed serums, FTW!) and the packaging also lends it to be used very easily.

If I could recommend just one product it would be a tie between the No Excuses Invisible Sunscreen and Boost Your Radiance Facial Oil. Both products are phenomenal. I would then extend out to the serums (they’re so unique), facial milk, and then the cleansers and sponge. Or you could jump right in and get the whole set here (it’s currently on sale!).
