Rosé Mansion Experience

I was so excited to score an invite to The Rosé Mansion’s Grand Opening blogger event (my first blogger event, to be honest) and, well, *spoiler alert* it did not disappoint. I had no idea what to expect when I went, but I feel confident in describing it as a rosé tasting and fun house for adults mash up.

You start upstairs – the whole vibe of the place is pops of pink and fuscia with white marble and gold. It also had a tropical theme woven through the whole experience even though each room, or ‘art installation’ was different and unique.

The first room is white and there you’re given a plastic stemless wine glass for tastings, enamel pin, and a sticker sheet of different rosé grapes. The first room is stark white and resembles a ‘Brooklyn Roof Deck’  and your first activity is to place some colored grape stickers anywhere in the room. It’s a similar concept to this art installation.

According to the mixologist, there is no bad ‘blend’ combo.

Each subsequent room has a different activity (aside from a rosé tasting). I won’t describe every room in depth because I think I would bore you. The highlights include: mixing your own rose blend in the Lab, jumping in a ball pit that resembles ‘being in a bottle of prosecco’, and my personal favorite: literally swinging on a chandelier swing. Sia, eat your heart out.

I should also point out that each room also has a ‘guide’ who gives you some educational tidbit whether it be about the history of rosé, the science of taste and smell, how fermentation works, etc. To be honest, I felt a little bad for the guides during this event as they were trying to make it nice and educational – they were even open to you picking their brain on the installations or their topic of expertise. But in reality, there were 100+ bloggers (including moi) who really just wanted to wait in line with a glass of wine to get the perfect boomerang of swinging in the chandelier. What can I say? We all have #goals.

Now let’s talk rosé. The rosé at the mansion was superb. I will admit that my life has been dotted with the occasional bad (sometimes very bad) rosé, but at the Rose Mansion I didn’t have a bad glass! I liked every single rosé I tried (which surprised me)- even a super sweet one (I’m a dry wine kind of gal) that I would describe as ‘sangria-like’.  When speaking to one of the guides, he mentioned that each rosé was carefully hand picked by the curators. Also, I’m a complete lightweight and I must have had about 4-ish glasses while I was there and zero hangover the next day – take that sulfates!

Once you’ve done the official tasting upstairs, head downstairs for the bar where you can have a full glass of your fave rosé from the tasting plus even more blush-colored options. There are also two photo booths, one filled with hot pink sand (that I found in my bed the next morning -eek!), the other filled with gold and pink tinsel.

TLDR- Final Thoughts

Overall, I would say that the Rosé Mansion is worth the $45 ticket price. It’s the perfect combination of a wine tasting + fun house (with a bar at the end!). While some articles I’ve read before my visit dismiss it as an ‘Instagram – look at me!’ spot – I think it’s so much more than that. Did I get some cute pics of myself and boomerangs to post on social media? Duh! But at the same time it was just fun. The wine was GOOD. I’m all about analyzing the value of things and I think the ticket price supports the tastings and activities in each of the rooms. Now, just don’t forget to get a boomerang of yourself in the chandelier swing.

Tips:

  • Don’t forget your ID! There is a nice gentleman outside with a pink tie who strictly checks.
  • Wear layered and light clothing so you can make ‘different’ outfits for photo ops (e.g. with/without a cardigan). Wear light clothing because the AC wasn’t super efficient upstairs and I sweated like a total P-I-G.
  • If you’re VIB Rouge at Sephora – there’s a location 2 blocks away. If you want the perfect snap, schedule to get your make up done before hand.
  • Go early – I can see this place getting ‘backed up’ during prime times and days. I think going early will help avoid this.
  • Eat a meal before going. Hangry+Tipsy (especially on wine) = absolutely NO bueno!

This Place is Good For:

  • Rainy days/Heat Wave days
  • Going on a date
  • Going with Co-workers during a slow day
    • Also, if you need to locate a 21+ event for interns, this is it.
  • Going with friends from out of town
  • All ages 21+ (but I think those in their 20’s and 30’s would enjoy it the most)

This Place is Not Ideal for:

  • Going solo/killing time
  • Going with a pregnant/non-drinking friend
